A little bit of typography

Recently ive been learning the way of typographic design in my own time. Although in the above image i cant claim to own any of the images or fonts, i feel this came across pretty much exactly how i imagined it. The text is lyrics from a song by "The Doors" called "Queen of the Highway". As a fan of The Doors i know they have some whole desert theme going on, with all the movies and albums they've released and even Jim Morrison the bands front man being referred to as "The Lizard King". For this reason i chose this desert scene as a the background image. Also in one of the films a very similar effect of twirling stars is part of the transition between two scenes. Only now i realise i was subconsciously inspired by that scene.

This is an example of some textured text using a painting i did for a previous project. I thought the transition between the red and blue inside the words was really nice and the contrast of the two colours are obviously very strong to each other and the off white background i chose to make it less have less of a clean and bright look. I think the emptiness of the image really suits the words, and the bold colour inside almost shows the confusion that is in the words.

Getting experimental with shutter speeds

An extremely experimental photo shoot took place today. After attempting to take photos for an anti drug advertising campaign our creative minds took me and my friends on a tangent of long shutter speeds waving our arms about running round the woods mindlessly shining torches in all directions. i found that this image was my favourite and came out exactly as i imagined in my head. Although i wouldn't say photography is my forte it was refreshing to revisit it after a long break through the first year of college. This shoot gave me motivation to get myself a proper camera and take more pictures.
Here is another one of the experimental photos, we were trying to outline each other with lights and in this picture i would move my arms up once every 10 seconds as someone was constantly drawing my outline with a 30 second shutter speed i should of worked out that i had 2 extra pairs of arm.

The Beginning

Hello!
